Testimonials

From Julie Shackelford:
"When our son was born two years ago, I had every intention of breastfeeding, and everything I read made it sound fairly straightforward. Things didn't start out that way for me, however, and I have Linda Hill to thank for getting us over that hurdle. Linda was there with us throughout our hospital stay, and was extremely comforting, supportive and knowledgeable as we all tried to learn what this breastfeeding thing was all about. When my milk didn't come in for two weeks, she got me on a pumping and supplementing schedule until I could produce enough milk. She made several visits to our home, and was absolutely our lifeline in those first few weeks - I will always be grateful to her for that. I'm pleased to say that after a rocky start my son exclusively breastfed for 6 months, and continued until he was 15 months old while we introduced solids. In fact I ended up producing so much milk that the Mother's Milk Bank received over 700 ounces of donated milk! We are expecting our second child soon, and I anticipate the breastfeeding to be easier this time around, but it sure is comforting to know that Linda will be nearby to provide us with a refresher course! A lactation consultant is essential to anyone planning on breastfeeding their child - what a great service you provide."

From Sharon Beasley:
"I am writing to commend the services provided by Linda Hill as a lactation consultant for the Capital Pediatric Group. Although I had attended a breast feeding class provided by the hospital before my first child was born, I was not prepared for the dramatic breastfeeding problems we had in the first several weeks of his life. He was so frustrated by the process within the first few days that he simply gave up and refused to eat. After a 12 hour stretch without food, I was frantic and sure he would have to be readmitted back into the hospital. Linda turned the situation completely around and her services were invaluable. She was both professional and knowledgeable but more importantly, she was also extremely supportive and personable during this stressful time. She is a wonderful person and is a great addition to your staff at the Capital Pediatric Group. It is a rare thing to find someone who is obviously doing the job they were meant to do in life."

From Marisol Butler:
"I highly recommend all moms see a lactation consultant. Although breastfeeding is natural, there is a technique to it. I did not see a lactation consultant with my first child and my nipples were sore, cracked, and even bled. I endured the pain before I began to enjoy breastfeeding. With my second child my nipples were begining to get sore, but I saw Linda within a few days of giving birth. She observed me breastfeeding, corrected the problems, and my nipples did not suffer. I actually enjoyed breastfeeding without the initial discomfort (pain). Visit a lactation consultant regardless if it's your first child or second."
